InterNews is a shareware product of Moonrise Software. You are welcome to try it out and, if you decide to use it regularly then you are obliged to pay for it. Your payment will help cover the cost of support and further development. The copy you have downloaded is fully functional but has a 30 day trial time limit. When you register the program, that limit is removed. We have kept the price very low as an incentive to you to contribute to the shareware industry in general and InterNews development in particular.
InterNews has the following pricing in US dollars:
A single user license is $20.
A Site License is $200 and covers all locations for your organization within a 160
kilometer radius of your site (100 miles).
A World-Wide License costs $2000 and it covers all locations for your organization on the
planet earth.
A non-exclusive source code license can be purchased, subject to approvals from
Dartmouth College, for $20,000.
Under terms of the agreement between Roger Brown and Dartmouth College, users in
the following communities are exempt from payment:

Ñ Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center
Ñ ValleyNet (located in the Connecticut River Valley, Vermont and New Hampshire)
If you are student or teacher using InterNews in conjunction with a K-12 (pre-college) educational institution, contact us (internews@valley.net) for special licensing arrangements.
There are two ways to register InterNews:
1. If you are in the U.S., you can send payment by check directly to us at the following address. Be sure to include your email address and mention InterNews so that we can send you a confirmation message and add you to our user database. Please make your check payable to Roger Brown.

2. Use the Register program included with the distribution package. This is the best method to use if you want to use a credit card, purchase order, or currency from outside of the United States. Follow these instructions for sending your payment. If you do not have the Register program, you can get it at <http://geminga.dartmouth.edu/~moonlight> or send email to <mailto:internews@valley.net>.
Open the Register program that accompanies InterNews. Enter your name, your email address, and the number of single user licenses you desire for each program you wish to purchase (or Site or World-Wide licenses). Save or Copy or Print the data from the Register program and send the data and payment to Kagi Shareware. More specifics on the Register program follow. Kagi Shareware handles our payment processing.
If paying with Credit Card or First Virtual, you can email or fax the data to Kagi Shareware. Their email address is shareware@kagi.com and their fax number is +1 510 652-6589. You can either Copy the data from Register and paste into the body of an email message or you can save the data to a file and you can attach that file to an email message. There is no need to compress the data file, it's already pretty small. If you have a fax modem, just Print the data to the Kagi fax number.
Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. You will receive an email acknowledgement when it is processed. Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide a correct internet email address you will receive an email acknowledgement.
If you are paying with Cash or USD Check you should print the data using the Register application and send it to the address shown on the form, which is:

You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different countries but at present if you pay via check, it must be a check drawn in US Dollars. Kagi Shareware cannot accept checks in other currencies, the conversion rate for non-USD checks is around USD 15 per check and that is just not practical. If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the data into the Register program and then select Invoice as your payment method. Print three copies of the form and send it to your accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the line that mentions that they must include a copy of the form with their payment. Kagi Shareware can not invoice your company, you need to act on our behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork on your end.
Please do not fax or email payment forms that indicate Cash, Check or Invoice as the payment method. As far as we know, there is still no technology to transfer physical objects via fax or email and without the payment, the form cannot be processed. Payments send via postal mail take time to reach Kagi Shareware and then up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a correct email address, you will hear from Kagi Shareware when the form is processed.
If you do not have an email address, please enter your complete postal address and please remember, we do not know what country you live in so please enter that into the postal address also. Assuming that Kagi or Moonrise Software provides you with the registration verification: If you do not have an email address you should consider selecting the Postcard Receipt so that we can inform you of your registration verification. Kagi transmits the registration codes via email and paid postcard receipt only.
Protection
InterNews does not have any gimmicky shareware protection scheme but it does give you occassional shareware reminders until you register your copy. When you pay, we tell you how to indicate to InterNews that you have paid the shareware fee.
Licensee Benefits
Registered users or sites are entitled to:
- use of the current and older versions of InterNews and maintenance releases up to but not including the next major release as defined by the author or for one year, whichever is greater. In other words, you can use the version that you register for as long as it works for you and if we get a major release out within a year, all users registered in the preceding 12 months are licensed to use it as well. For comparison, this major release took 2 years to produce.

Warranty
InterNews has no warranty expressed or implied. It has been used successfully on many models of Macintosh Computer at many sites over the past four years. New situations can reveal new bugs, however. If InterNews does not work for you in the manner described in the documentation, your license entitles you to email support. If we cannot correct your problem within one year of your purchase date, your money will be refunded and your license will be canceled.
Legal Statement
Dartmouth College bears no responsibility whatsoever with regard to the InterNews program in any version after 1.1.
Roger Brown (the author) , aka. Moonrise Software, disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The author is not liable for any damages whatsoever that may be attributable to the use of or inability to use this software, even if the author has been advised of the possibility of such damages. The author has no control over and is not liable for any consequence, legal or otherwise, resulting from the transmission of any data content of any kind. The person using the InterNews program bears all risk with respect to the use of this software.
Distribution
You may distribute InterNews to other users in any manner as long as you do not charge money for doing so. You may not distribute it on an CD-Rom or magnetic disk medium for which you charge money without getting our permission first.
